John Haskell, Llancarfan Primary School father of two, Megan and Morgan, has now set off on his bid to row 3000 miles across the Atlantic. John and his fire fighter colleague, Jamie Windsor from South Wales Fire Service will face the greatest challenge of their lives.
As Team Atlantic Dash on rowing boat, The Pendovey Swift 2, they are taking part in one of the world’s toughest races rowing 3000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean. Their goal: to raise awareness and over £100,000 for The Fire Fighters Charity, Breast Cancer Care, Help for Heroes and WRVS (Women's Royal Voluntary Service). John Haskell, parent of Llancarfan pupils, Megan and Morgan Haskell, and his colleague Jamie Windsor, will face physical and emotional turmoil as they endure the unpredictability of the weather and the ocean in their self-sufficient bid to cross the Atlantic.
More people have been in space or have climbed Everest than have rowed the Atlantic. If you would like to support Team Atlantic Dash on their journey and to help them raise £100,000 please visit their website www.atlanticdash.co.uk.
